A Product That Enhances Your Natural Beauty!

Blush, the product you didn’t realise had magic powers!

You make me blush!

As a daughter of a mum that rocked serious blush in the 80s I remember wanting to emulate the same look, whilst dressed up as Madonna.  Thankfully, by the time I reached teenager stage in the 90’s make up had massively toned down.  That said, I’ve always worn blush, it’s a religious part of my routine but I don’t tend to see many woman utilising this product.

Three reasons why you should wear blush:

1)  Studies show that having a pink tint to your cheeks makes you look younger

2)  It adds a healthy glow to your face

3)  And it makes your skin look flushed without the need to spend an hour working out

And I think it adds sex appeal as surely a no-brainer!

What you may not know is that in ancient Egypt women made blush from seeds. And in the Middle Ages ladies bled themselves to become pale and then would apply strawberry juice to their cheeks… Phew, I’m so glad times have moved on.

Here are the 2 blushes that I use day to day:

Powder Blush

These are perfect for a natural sun-kissed glow.  Many different shades of pink, red, peachy, orange/terracotta colours are available, and they have a matte finish.  Perfect if you have oily skin.  Powder blush is one of my preferred options as it can last for hours.  Don’t be shy with applying this product.

Cream Blush

If you are after that dewy, glowy goddess finish, cream blush is the one for you.  I’m so into cream blush.  I love the way it sinks into my skin leaving a fresh pop of colour.  There are many cream blushes that also contain essential oils and moisturizing components making it perfect for dry skin. A cream blush can be easily applied with your fingers.

There is also shimmer blush.  If you fancy a bit of sparkle opt for this type or you can also use this as a highlighter.  Best to apply with a bigger blush brush or sponge.  Just remember not to go heavy.  Gradually building up is best.

Next up, there is the cheek stain or tinted blush.  Many Korean beauty brands offer these types of blushes.  They are quick drying and last until you wash your face.  And conveniently they can double up as a lipstick stain.

Lastly, the stick blush which is also very popular.  Very similar to cream, easy to apply with fingers and can be used on the go.

If you aren’t familiar with using blusher, the best way to apply is to smile and apply to the apples of your cheeks.  Voila!
