Everything Denim!

Including Jeans, skirts, dresses, and jumpsuits…

I couldn’t pretend to hide my delight when I read a headline saying, “skinny jeans are dead!”. Oh, how I tried to rock the skinny jeans look but I never quite managed to pull it off let alone feeling confident enough to wear them. The style just didn’t suit my classic pear-shaped body so I chose not to follow the trend and stuck with my own look.

Whether the skinny was your thing or not, perhaps it’s time to check out some new styles…

Bootcut jeans are back on-trend, this time round in a flattering high waist and smaller flare. This style will slot right into your existing wardrobe. Wear with pumps, ankle boots, trainers, shoes, or your favourite pair of wedges. If you’re short like me, rocking a high waist jean will make your legs appear longer. You might even want to tuck your top in with these jeans as they are super flattering. And if you’re an hourglass shape this style is made for you.

Wide-leg jeans are also making a comeback with a nod to the 70’s-style silhouette. I love this style as it’s so versatile and flattering. If you were a 90’s chick, then you’ll love the fact that ‘baggys’ are back. Wear them with a tailored coat for a super stylish look. Straight and slim cut jeans are very much in too and will instantly freshen up your look. All these styles are much more universally flattering than the skinny.

There are a couple of styles that I’m not quite buying into and that’s the cut-out pocket jean and the crossover jean look. If you like them then you go for it girl!

I’ve also selected some other denim pieces that I think will last for years and avoid looking dated.

Lastly, DOUBLE DENIM!! Remove images of Britney & Justin from back in the day. When worn correctly this look is on fire! As a rule, do not wear the same shade of denim as you need a little contrast going on. It’s best to opt for straight fit jeans over a baggy style unless you’re targeting

Denim Pieces for everyone!
