Powder To Help Create The Airbrush Look!

The difference between setting and finishing powder

Ok gorgeous goddesses out there, why do we need to use setting powder?

This product will set then lock in your foundation and concealer resulting in a clearer, smoother, pore less and texture less surface.  The point of using setting powder is to keep your make up looking better for longer.  WOOHOO! That’s what I’m after.

What’s the difference between setting powder and finishing powder?

You might be thinking…” it’s the same thing, right?”  Nope, there is a difference between the two.

Setting powder is primarily used on top of foundation and concealer to lock wet products into place.  With the right product touch-ups should no longer be needed.

Finishing powder is used to smooth out fine lines and blur imperfections.  As the name suggests it’s used at the end of your make up application.  A good finishing powder will help create an airbrush look perfect for insta pics!  If you’ve gone a little heavy with the bronzer or blush finishing powder can help even it out. Finishing powder is usually translucent with a super fine texture.  It can come as a loose powder or in a compact.  You can also opt for a mattifying or luminous effect.  Ladies, if you have dry skin use the luminous powder to help give you a gorgeous glow.

Can I use setting powder and finishing powder together?

Yes, you can.  However, there are some powder foundations on the market that take away the need for setting powder.  Always best to check which foundation you have.

I use a make-up puff to apply my setting powder and occasionally I’ll use a brush. It’s your preference as either way gives a great result.

Ideally, it’s best to use a domed powder brush or a flat top brush for finishing powder.  After dusting your brush with powder gently stamp and pat across your face.  A setting spray will complete your flawless look.
