Look chic this winter
The gorgeous late summer sun we’ve been enjoying over the past couple of weeks we all know cannot persist and with the coming of winter, we need the right outerwear to keep us warm whilst looking super chic!
Never underestimate the impact outerwear can have as it’s the first part of your ensemble that is seen.
I always like to have a handful of outerwear items to go with different looks and have built my collection over the years. Certain styles of coat have become timeless – think puffer, trench, shearling, faux, teddy and biker leather jackets, so these classics can form part of a gradually acquired collection.
The puffer in particular is expecting to dominate this season with an oversized-look being the variation on the classic style.
Away from the classics, the gilet, cape and poncho are great outer-layer alternatives. There are some gorgeous prints out there as well as universal suits-all neutrals. Wear with a belt or used as an extra layer.
Wanting something altogether different? Then go for colour. A bright blue, yellow or pink coat is always going to perk up an outfit. If you’re after neutrals which I love, there is a plethora of options.
If you’ve shopped smart in the past and have the coat bases covered, perhaps add a belt to a coat or push your sleeves up slightly with a pair of long leather gloves to freshen your look.
As I so often say, there’s something out there for everyone!
