…a big fat YES!
We are very fortunate that over the past 50 years science has greatly improved anti-aging products.
Present day we have access to cosmeceutical, active ingredients and super-busting age-fighting products. I haven’t even started on the superb non-surgical treatments around – that’s a whole different topic that I will cover at a later date.
From the age of 25 our skin is classed as mature which seems patently unfair! Skin really starts to change during the thirties when sun exposure (yep, that was me!) and environmental factors impact the appearance or for a lucky few, great skin genes show their worth.
So, where do you start? I can only talk from my personal experience. When my skin started to show signs of aging I had been using brands like Estee Lauder, L’O’real, Clinique and various drugstore products. I remember switching between them, desperate to find the ones that did what they promised then came to the realisation that this topic required proper thought.
I took the time to understand how the skin ages as well as researched various specialists, ultimately consulting Cosmetic Doctor Dr Tracey Mountford who set me on the right path with a 16-week skin regime that had scientific rigour and in which I truly believed. The visit changed everything!
A simple observation I can make is that the products available through medical practices are absent of the leading brands you’d expect to see in the beauty section of a department store. I suspect this is because they lack the potency or strength of active ingredients needed to really make a difference.
The skin system that I used wasn’t plain sailing. It caused redness, flakiness and heightened sensitivity but I knew this was to be expected and it was confirmation the products that were working. After that initial 8 week period the fine wrinkling started to disappear, fine lines in general softened and my complexion looked clearer and smoother. My skin had undoubtedly improved and the first skin compliment confirmed in my mind that the time and money was worth every penny.
Ladies, in my opinion anti-aging products DO WORK but it must be the right ones and it’s never too late to start using them.
If you have deep wrinkling, volume loss and more severe signs of aging starting a skin regime will help however, a dramatic change is more likely to benefit from having non-surgical treatments and there are options in abundance.
- Fillers are great for restoring volume loss and filling deep lines
- Skin Boosters work really well for fine lines and hydration
- Chemical Peels can help create a fresher, clearer and smoother complexion
- Morpheus 8 is a superb skin treatment that promotes the production of collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid resulting in significant improvment in the appearance of the skin and also has a lifting effect
Beautiful skin requires commitment
There is a treatment option for most concerns and they can have a profound effect on confidence and how you feel about yourself.
Every woman can have glowing goddess-looking skin. You just need the right tools!
