I’ve been rocking nude lips for years, and it’s a type of colour that I wear as a day or evening look. It also makes me a pro in terms of where to find the perfect nude.
Here are my Top Picks.
Mac Act Natural Matte Lipstick
Mac Cosmetics is a prestige brand loved by professional makeup artists and consumers, a.k.a me!
Act Natural is a matte lipstick described as a light greyed nude with gold undertones. This nude lippy is one that I keep going back to time and time again. Its intense colour suits most skin tones, and although they describe this beauty as lasting 10 hours, I would rather say it lasts a good few hours.
I initially saw Act Natural online, but for some reason, the colour didn’t appeal. However, seeing the lipstick on a trip to my local department store changed my mind. Always best to sample in-store before buying online to ensure a successful choice and purchase.
This lipstick is also a great colour to switch to as the summer draws to an end and we transition into Autumn. I’ve been wearing pink all summer and am ready to embrace a nude lippy.
Love it!
Shiseido ModernMatte Power Lipstick Whisper 502
Except for this lipstick bought in duty-free, I have to admit that I have never bought makeup products from this Japanese company which, unlike other luxury brands, has never been on my radar.
This lippy is described as non-drying, which I can confirm is entirely correct – I found it to be hydrating, which is a bonus if you suffer from dry lips.
The combination of waxes and oils is the secret to this product as it melts into your lips, forming a hydrating veil of colour. It does feel like you’re not wearing any lipstick, which I quite like. This nude pink was a great find, and I’m keen to try more of their colours.
A superb nude lippy that I reckon everyone can wear!
Clarins Velvet Lip Protector Nude
Following the hugely popular Natural Lip Perfector Lip Balm, this brand launched its Velvet Lip Perfector collection in four different shades a couple of years ago. It was even rumored to have been favoured by Duchess Of Cambridge Kate Middleton, and I can see why.
Clarins describes the Velvet Lip Perfector as a matte lip enhancer that adds colour to the lips with an intense shade delivering a soft velvet effect with a gentle blurring texture. The Lip Perfector feels unlike any lip product I’ve used before, with a velvety texture on application that absorbs into your lips nicely. It’s enriched with shea butter leaving them moisturised and nourished.
As soon as I discovered this range, I was all over the nude shade; you can get this in Velvet Rosewood (gorgeous red), Velvet Red (deeper red), and Velvet Raspberry.
A novel product that I recommend!
