Sharing My First Morpheus8 Treatment: Read On!

I recently underwent my first Morpheus8 treatment, and considering the growing curiosity among many women about this procedure that has been dubbed a game-changer, I couldn’t wait to share my experience.

When it comes to selecting a skin clinic, my standards are high. Competence is undoubtedly crucial, but equally significant is my rapport with the team and the individual performing the cosmetic procedure.

For years I have been a regular at the same skin clinic, Ambra Aesthetics. Every appointment feels like catching up with old friends. Among the team is the Clinic Manager, a stunning woman I’ve endearingly nicknamed the ‘North London J-Lo’.

She looks many years younger than her actual age and over the last 12 months I’ve closely followed her Morpheus8 journey, witnessing the incredible transformation in her skin which looks tighter, smoother, lifted and off-the-scale radiant. I can’t help but crave that same look!

Over the past year I’ve noticed a change to my own skin that occurs naturally with the ageing process in your 40s. As I turned 46 in September, I finally felt ready to try Morpheus8!

For at least one week before the treatment it’s crucial to avoid using potent skincare products such as retinol, tretinoin and AHAs. In preparation for my appointment I focused on hydrating my skin and stopped my regular morning and nighttime skincare routines.

My clinic’s lovely Aesthetic Therapist, Sharin, began by gently removing my makeup and carefully examining my skin. She then talked me through how the procedure would benefit me and what I should anticipate during the process.

If you’re familiar with Morpheus8 you might have come across mentions of potential pain or discomfort. Ambra Clinic’s approach is to apply numbing cream and leave it on for an hour with a top-up of cream halfway, allowing the effects to kick in, thus minimising any discomfort during treatment. Some clinics only numb you for twenty minutes, hence more discomfort is experienced.

The initial five minutes were surprisingly painless, thanks to the effective numbing of my skin. Sensations from the device felt more like gentle stamps across my face.

However, as we progressed I began to experience slight discomfort, particularly around the delicate area above my lips and under my eyes. Sharin picked up on this and efficiently manoeuvred through these sensitive sections, demonstrating her expertise and care.

In what seemed like no time at all my first Morpheus8 treatment was over. So people, to allay any concerns, rest assured that the procedure isn’t as painful as it may seem! It’s easily tolerated!

Skin looking red after treatment.

Sharin advised me to keep my skin clean and free from any products until the following day when I could delicately cleanse and apply a nourishing moisturiser. I use ZO Skin Health products, and their cleanser and moisturiser are excellent for post-treatment care. She also made clear that I should avoid makeup for the next four days,

Upon returning home I could see my skin appeared red (as you can see in the above image) but this subsided within a few hours. By day four everything seemed to have settled down and no one could tell I had undergone any treatment. It was refreshing to have a break from applying products, allowing my skin to feel clean and rejuvenated.

I will be able to resume my regular skincare routine in one week. My second Morpheus8 appointment has been booked for five weeks and I’m looking forward to it.

This treatment entails a three-session course and I know that I won’t start to see the results for a while until new collagen forms.

Based on my experience so far I can confirm this is a relatively quick procedure with minimal downtime.

I shall keep you updated on my progress and fingers crossed good results!
